I've always loved opening packages. Whether for a present I 'had no idea' I was going to receive or for a previously loved classic novel I'd ordered online, I've never been one to shy away from tearing through the packaging to get to the best bit: the item. MeMeMe Cosmetics is a cruelty-free cosmetics brand for the free spirited boho-chic woman. I'd had my eye on their products for a while after I got a taste of what they can do through GlossyBox. So It's not because I'm new to the etailPR family that I feel obligated to write a glowing review of the products I received from them. No, the products I discovered merit the gushing praise I've been giving them to girlfriends and family alike. So what were they? My first choice had been the Seventh Heaven Enriched Moisturising Face Base, which promised a light scent of a zest of lemon, orange, lime and mandarin. The consistency is creamy but lightweight and the smell is not overpowering. When I first put some on my face (squeaky clean, of course), it didn't at all feel heavy. My skin felt soft and I must say glowed a little... I noticed the light bouncing off my cheekbones, forehead and chin as though they had been subtly highlighted by a discreet MUA well-schooled in achieving that 'no-makeup' look. Of course, when I brushed on my Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra 24H foundation, it simply glided on - no crackling dry skin around the nose or those random areas on my cheeks I occasionally get. Despite Lancôme's own scent, the primer's zesty one followed me throughout my day.

I did not expect to get the other two items. They were the Inspire Catwalk Quad Collection eye shadow in golden hues and the Eye Sweep Preicision Eye Definer in black. I have been meaning to wear more eye shadow but didn't want to go garishly over-the-top with all kinds of crazy colours so this selection of shimmering cream, gold, bronze and brown is perfect for me. I also think that it would suit any skin type and would make a nice natural-ish smokey eye. The container is compact so it could be carried anywhere with or without your own eye shadow brush - just dab the shade of your choice on your eyelids and you have a subtle lift in colour.

To be honest, I'm not really a big fan of eyeliner. Namely, because as a natural-born klutz I'm not so good with a steady hand. Not to mention the fact that all the typing that I do on a daily basis has probably resulted in an unwanted twitch which makes any sort of detailed application a dangerous task to perform. (Is that a made-up reason? Methinks so too.) They do, however, say that liquid eyeliner is best not only for precision but for long-lasting wear. So, at least, that was something. I have to say that this eye definer is particularly good. It has managed to give me the look I want around the eyes, so much so that any cat-eye fails you might see on Instagram should be completely put down to my lack of makeup artistry. Failing that, I have been using it on my eyebrows too. Drawing a little, and then brushing it through with an eyebrow brush. Just a smidgen, though. I know I shouldn't, but it works! What can I say? It seems MeMeMe Cosmetics are as resourceful as they are excellent and affordable.
